NBA 2024/25 latest News and Predictions for November
Stay ahead of the game with our latest NBA blog! Get the inside scoop on the latest news, scores, and expert predictions.
Roughly a month into the newest edition of the NBA season and already there are plenty of storylines that fans need to know about. While it may have seemed like we got everything figured out before the start, many of the early predictions fell through as some rather unexpected developments took place. Injuries are already piling up, expected contenders are struggling, and there is an overall feeling of uncertainty and unfamiliarity because of these unexpected factors. One thing is certain: it is still rather exciting to see the best of the best go at it night in and night out.
Because of all this, it is not easy for someone deeply invested in the best that basketball has to offer. No longer can you watch a game and know full well who is taking it before it actually finishes. Anything can happen and a bunch of stuff is happening. So how can an average fan of the NBA, or more importantly, an online sports betting enthusiast, prepare for a full slate of games? Is it possible to do enough research and should you trust the odds the bookies make? To these and other questions, we give answers in the following guide. Read on if you love basketball for the newest news, speculations, and predictions.
Struggling Playoff Teams
Two of the bigger stories deal with teams that were expected to make early pushes for the top of the standings and eventually make a deep playoff run. These are mainly the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks. Considering the names in their ranks and their past success, one of them more so than the other, they should be good for most of the season, right? Well, it seems like that will not be the case this season. It is already looking very bad for them and we have barely scratched the surface.Let us start with Philly. The City of Brotherly Love has been Trusting the Process for years now, but alas, it was to no avail. After numerous disappointments and experiments with stars past their prime, Joel Embiid somehow won an MVP and everyone’s spirits were high. Then, of course, his injuries continued as he was still unable to finish a season and take the team past the second round. Now, he has yet to play a single game this season. He was involved in two controversies already.
First, he said that if it were up to him, he would never play in back-to-back games until the end of his career. For this, the league launched an investigation into Philadelphia’s conducting of player absences. Then, the shoved a reporter in the locker room and got suspended for three games. And all of this after missing the first few games due to injury. It cannot get any worse, can it? Well, Tyrese Maxey is out for several weeks with a hamstring injury and Paul George is a bit rusty after missing the first several games of the season. All in all, the 76ers are one of the worst teams right now with a 1-7 record and dead last in the Eastern Conference. Betting against them would not be a bad idea going forward.
Right above them with an abysmal 2-7 record are the Milwaukee Bucks, who, compared to Philly, are not struggling with any drama or major injuries to their stars. Sure, Khris Middleton is absent still and is yet to appear this season, but they are used to it by now. Their struggles come from a few other places. First off, it does seem like Doc Rivers is the greatest fraud in NBA coaching in the last 20 years. Since he took over, everything has gone downhill. Losing Jrue Holiday and getting Damian Lillard proved like a mistake as the team is struggling mightily on the defensive end and the duo of Giannis Antetokiunpo and Lillard cannot carry the entire offense on their own. If one of them misses a game, it is a definite loss, and they do tend to miss a game from time to time.
The lack of help from the bench as well as the remainder of the starting five is simply not enough to compete in the East right now. Other teams are younger, faster, and more talented, while the Bucks are the oldest team in the league with an average age of 30.4 years. All you need to know about their roster struggles is the fact that they are playing a 36-year-old Brook Lopez for 30 minutes a game. There is no end in sight to their struggles and Giannis constantly appears in trade rumors. It would be one of the biggest shakeups in the history of the league if or when the Bucks make a move. This cannot go on for much longer as frustration is already at a peak.
Cavaliers are for Real
On the opposite end of the spectrum are the incredible Cleveland Cavaliers who have run out of the gate to start the season and kept on sprinting. Throw a hurdle at them and they will clear it by a mile. Nothing seems to be phasing them as they opened the new campaign with a 10-0 and it seems like there is no end in sight to their amazing stretch. This is the best start in franchise history, and we are talking about a team that is synonymous with LeBron James. At the moment, Stake gives them the odds of 19.00 to take the title, with 7 other teams in front. Capitalizing now would be an amazing wagering foresight and they could very well do it.~Donovan Mitchel
Donovan Mitchel and Darius Garland are leading the backcourt while the twin towers of Evan Mobley and Jarret Allen are anchoring the post. Such a combination of size and speed, offense and defense, is not present in many other teams. Add a constant threat from beyond the arc from the likes of Max Strus, Caris LeVert, Sam Merrill, and Isaac Okoro, and you have a well-rounded team poised for greatness. Betting on the Cavs is one of the surest things in basketball right now so be sure to ride the wave until it lasts. It is a good time once again to be an NBA fan in Cleveland.
Phoenix, Thunder, Celtics on a Roll
This assortment of contenders is doing their thing to open the season as all three teams are great right now. The Phoenix Suns are atop the Western Conference with an 8-1 record, same as the second-best Oklahoma City Thunder. Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Jusuf Nurkic are leading the way as the team is winning games, both close and lopsided, and finally playing well together. The chemistry of OKC is unmatched and it is just so good to watch the guys interact with each other and play so well together. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren are leading the way and their supporting cast is unlike anything else in the league. They could be ready for that final push come playoff time.In the East, right under the mighty Cavs is the defending champion, the Boston Celtics. With the odds to take another title and cement the dynasty being 3.60, they are still the bookies’ favorites. However, many teams are off to an amazing start and could ruin their best chance at a repeat in almost 4 decades. Jason Tatum is playing like an MVP, again, and several guys are coming into their own, especially Payton Pritchard. With Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis down with injuries, the Cs have not yet taken out their best starting five onto the court this season. It is a scary thought to have but there is no saying how good they will be when the gears start turning midway through the season.
Numerous Early MVP Candidates
After the first two weeks, the MVP battle looked nothing like we expected it to. Some names appeared there that no sane person would think of. For example, two Clippers players are incredible right now, but none of them are named James Harden or Kawhi Leonard. It is Norman Powell and Ivica Zubac who have been carrying the load and are the main contributors to the positive 5-4 record of a team who were supposed to be where the Bucks and Philly are right now. Zubac is averaging 16.7 points and 12.8 rebounds while Powell is playing out of his mind with 25.7 points per game. The Sacramento Kings hoped for a better start than their current 5-4 record, but there is a lot to be optimistic about right now. They have three players averaging more than 20 points per game. De’Aron Fox is leading the way with 24.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. DeMar DeRozan is currently at 24.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. Domantas Sabonis is averaging 20.6 points, 13 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game and has already had several triple-doubles.
that's a wrap from the desert, catch y'all tm for another one 🫡

Defensive Player of the Game presented by @phoonglawcorp pic.twitter.com/JfANZzwY8h
Speaking of the Lithuanian superstar, he has had one of the best games in history, a perfect game as many called it. In their November 6 win over the Toronto Raptors, he did something nobody else has. Pay attention. He had a triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists. He added 1 steal to it. But the great thing about it is that he shot 100% from the floor, 6/6, 100% from the free throw, 5/5, and did not have a single foul or turnover! Such a game is unheard of and it is a testament to how the new, non-American players (Jokic, Sabonis, Giannis, Luka, Shai) are changing the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently in the 7th spot with a 5-4 record after opening the season in big fashion. With big stories surrounding them, none bigger than Bronny James and the new coaching staff led by JJ Reddick, they are handling the business well enough. LeBron James says he plans to play all 82 games this season, something he has only done once in his 22-year-long career. That is promising as the team needs all he can give them, and he is delivering amazingly well for a soon-to-be 40-year-old.
However, it is Anthony Davis who is leading the way and making an early push for the MVP. The 31-year-old is currently averaging 32.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2 blocks per game on 57% shooting. These are MVP numbers and should he be able to play enough games, it could be his year. He is also delivering on the defensive end so it could be a battle between him and Victor Wembanyama for the Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Upcoming Games and Odds
Milwaukee Bucks
2024-11-21
Chicago Bulls
The Milwaukee Bucks 12th, 5 wins - 9 losses don't have much time to hang around anymore. Following a failed start to the season for a franchise expected to be in the last four of the conference at least, there is a better chance, shall we say. Indeed, the Wisconsin franchise has won 3 of its last 4 games in the big league. Difficultly against the Toronto Raptors 99-85, and for the reception of the Detroit Pistons on November 14 127-120, before a setback in Charlotte last Saturday 115-114 but a precious success in front of the Houston Rockets ex-3rd at the West 48 hours ago, in the Dame-Time during which the main interested party scored the 2 points of the 101-100 victory. Since the resumption at the end of October, Chicago has been literally unpredictable in its performances like its last 6 games in which the franchise has a record of 3 wins and 3 losses. It began with a success on the road against the Atlanta Hawks 113-125, followed with a setback at the end of a very good duel against the Chicago Bulls 113-119, for an XXL success then on the floor of the NY Knicks in Madison 123-124. Then, on November 16, Cleveland doubled the lead against Chicago 144-126, Houston won largely at home 107-143 before this success of the Bulls which has neither tail nor head against the Pistons 112-122 ago 48 hours. Moreover, at the start of the season, Chicago won against Milwaukee 122-133 on October 26.

New Orleans Pelicans
The undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers 1st, 15 wins - 0 losses were traveling yesterday to the champion Boston 2nd, 11 wins - 3 losses and runner-up to Cleveland. Parquet dressed in green in the color of the cloverleaf for the NBA Cup which also counts for the regular season. The Cleveland Cavaliers had a dragging game. Still behind, "Forrest City" waited until the end of the 3rd quarter to get within 2 points of the Celtics 90-88, but Boston rolled forward in the 4th quarter to win 120-117 at the end of A rather flattering result in favor of Cleveland. First defeat of the season for the Cavs after a historic start. On the New Orleans side, we repeat it constantly but it is good to do it, this team is torn by injuries of all kinds. Williamson, McCollum, Murray, Jones etc. Impossible for the New Orleans Pelicans to fight in such conditions, they who were once again massacred by the Dallas Mavericks last night in Texas. Return of Doncic for the occasion as if that wasn't enough, plus a great start in favor of Dallas 25-11. With both legs trapped in the waters of the Bayou, the Pelicans lost 132-91, their 8th defeat in 9 games.

Indiana Pacers
Does Coach Ime Udoka know the secret of the magic potion? The former coach of the Boston Celtics has been astonishing since his arrival in Texas. With the same material as its various predecessors, "'H-Town" finally seems to be returning to its best level of play, as was the case at the end of the 2020s under the reign of Mike d'Antoni. 4th in the Western Conference at the dawn of this game 10 wins - 5 losses, Houston was robbed on the floor of the Milwaukee Bucks 48 hours ago. How else to say it? With 14 seconds left, 99-100 in favor of Houston, Giannis recovered the ball but had his foot very wide in touch. Not whistled by the referees, and behind Lillard will score 2 points and give the Bucks victory 101-100. Finalists of the Eastern Conference 2023-24, the Indiana Pacers will have a lot to do to repeat this feat. Not because the competition in the East is omnipresent, but above all because certain franchises seem much better armed than Indiana at the moment. We think of New York, Boston, Cleveland, while waiting to see what the 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks will do. For now Indiana is in 8th place in this Eastern Conference 6 wins - 8 losses, beaten very recently by the Toronto Raptors 130-119.

Philadelphia 76ers
Memphis in the play-offs this year? This is the main objective of an entire group, but to do this, a little more consistency is expected over the duration of the season. This year a positive record might not be enough to play the play-offs in the Western Conference 10th in the West, 8 wins - 7 losses, Memphis is warned. Deprived of Ja Morant and Marcus Smart one more night last night for the reception of the Denver Nuggets, Taylor Jenkins' players took the water overall in front of the mountain collective 110-122. A 3rd defeat in its last 4 matches. Yesterday we learned that a crisis meeting had taken place at the Philly 76ers source the very well informed Shams Sharania during which players and members of the staff were all gathered. Lots of dialogue, a heated altercation between Jo Embiid and Tyrese Maxey when the latter allegedly criticized the Cameroonian for his numerous delays, his cruel lack of involvement. The main person concerned would not have denied the facts, reproaching Nick Nurse coach for his lack of consistency in the playing options. At the same time, the situation was no longer possible for the Philly 76ers 15th in the Eastern Conference, in the Urgency to react after a 4th consecutive loss against the Heat in Florida 106-89.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Portland Trail Blazers
At the Thunder, after an idyllic start to the season, Chet Holmgren's long-term injury doesn't make anyone laugh. Indeed, big favorite for the title in the West and even more so after a great start to the season 7 victories - 0 defeats, the Thunder are having trouble digesting the injury of their starting sophomore pivot. The Oklahoma Thunder has just lost two meetings ahead of which it was largely the favorite: at home on November 18 against the Dallas Mavericks 121-119 deprived of Luka Doncic and last night at the Spurs orphaned by Victor Wembanyma 110- 104. Were the Portland Blazers buried a little too quickly? This question deserves to be asked because of course, Portland is only 13th in the Western Conference, but it is jostling for entry into the top 10. Indeed, the record of 6 wins - 8 losses is very promising. Scoot Henderson's partners pulled out all the stops recently by winning 3 consecutive times: twice in front of the Minnesota Wolves 122-108, 106-98 before completely crushing the Atlanta Hawks with a score of 114-110.

Atlanta Hawks
Probably not expected in the top 8 of the Western Conference after the loss of Klay Thompson this summer - without forgetting that Steph Curry is getting closer to his 37th birthday - the Golden State franchise is the huge surprise of this start to the NBA season. 10 wins - 3 losses currently allow Golden State to take 1st place in the West. After a perfect last week in which Golden State beat OKC, Dallas and Memphis, GSW failed to tame the Los Angeles Clippers 102-99 in their new venue 48 hours ago. The Eastern Conference is absolutely crazy this year. Atlanta with a negative record of 7 wins - 8 losses could claim a direct qualifying place in the play-offs, via the 5th spot that the franchise currently occupies. In their performances, Zaccharie Rissacher's Hawks have a lot of merit, however. Indeed, a week ago to the day they beat the Boston Celtics in the TD Garden 116-117, the Wizards last Saturday in the Capital 129-117 and also the Sacramento Kings 108-109 48 hours ago for a new XXL success. 3 wins in the last 4 games, with a defeat against Portland in the middle.

New York Knicks
The Phoenix Suns, like the NOLA Pelicans, or the OKC Thunder now with Chet Holmgren's injury, deplore the absence of one or more superstars, in this case Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant these last days. The last named, the former Seattle SuperSonics player upon his arrival in the big league, has been shining since the start of the season, the Suns' main ray of sunshine. However with his injury, the sun darkened and the Suns sank in the standings. The Arizona players have simply lost their last 4 games in the NBA, they who no longer find the solutions: Kings 127-104, Thunder 99-83, Timberwolves 120-117 and Orlando Magic 99-109. Opposite, the Knicks took a little time to get started, the time for everyone to get to know each other since there were a lot of adjustments this summer, but it seems that the machine is finally launched. Indeed, with a smile on their face, the New Yorkers win matches, especially the last 3. Not enough to put the cart before the horse, we grant you, but we had to win the New York derby in Madison Square Garden 124-122, 114-104 before a clear and flawless domination in front of the Washington Wizards 134-106 48 hours ago.

Orlando Magic
We will quickly explain to you why the Los Angeles Clippers may not last a whole season at this pace. It's very simple to understand. First of all, they lost Paul George this summer without looking to replace him, curious. Then, they still haven't seen Kawhi play this year. Injured in his knee, he could miss the entire upcoming season. There remains James Harden, but the latter is no longer worth much. However, the Clippers believe in it and occupy 8th place, after two home successes against Jazz 116-105 and Golden State 102-99. Continuing a very promising 2023-24 financial year, the Orlando Magic franchise has made an appointment with the future. A future obscured by Paolo Banchero's injury 10 days ago which caused a lot of damage. But this team has more than one trick up its sleeve. 6 consecutive successes now for a rediscovered Magic: ahead of the NOLA Pelicans 115-88, the Washington Wizards 121-94, the Charlotte Hornets 114-89, the Indiana Pacers 94-90, the Philly 76ers 96- 88, and during a demonstration at the Suns 99-109 where it is often very complicated to win.

So what about some immediate games and the newest NBA sports betting odds? We have you covered. This weekend is full of great games, particularly on Sunday. The Suns are playing the Kings in a great Western Conference duel. Considering their current form and how well the team is playing together, the Suns’ odds of 1.46 make sense over the Kings’ 2.80. The over/under is 227.5 and should be a great over (1.77) to play as both teams have some heavy hitters on their rosters. Among Durant, Booker, and Beal on one side and Fox, DeRozan, and Sabonis on the other, it should be an easy win.
The struggling Bucks are playing the Celtics in what was supposed to be an Eastern Conference clash of contenders. However, it is not guaranteed due to the current form of the Milwaukee team. Still, Giannis and Lillard have a lot to prove and could actually come on top. Tatum is the lone star as his team is incomplete, hence the 1.80 odds for the Celtics and the 2.06 odds for the Bucks. This may be the game that turns it around for the Wisconsin team.
Who doesn’t like when the New York Knicks are good? It is simply great for the league and the sport! They are the favorites in their upcoming clash with the Indiana Pacers as the trades proved successful. Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Mikal Bridges on one side, and Pascal Siakam, Tyrese Haliburton, and Myles Turner are more than enough to get you the 1.77 over on the 226.5 threshold. As for the winner, the Knicks should take it. The bookies predict it and give them 1.81 over the Pacers’ 2.05.
