South Korea vs Palestine Prediction & Betting Tips (5 September)

Like a nation like Australia which gave up nothing to anyone in the 2nd round of qualifying, South Korea certainly finished undefeated but lost a small match against Thailand 1-1. Note that during the Asian Cup at the start of the calendar year, Son's teammates were knocked out in the semi-final against Jordan 2-0, probably tired after their penalty shootout against Saudi Arabia in 1 /8th and an extension to overcome Australia in the 1/4 finals. In June, as part of the last two qualifying matches for this 3rd round, the South Koreans beat Singapore 0-7 and China with a small score 1-0. On the other hand, Palestine has never participated in a World Cup in its history and hopes to remedy this for the next edition but this requires this 3rd qualifying round.

The Palestinians can build on their good little Asian Cup campaign at the start of the year with a place in the round of 16, but were beaten by Qatar, winner of the competition 2-1. In the 2nd round, Palestine showed its limits against tough opponents like Australia with two defeats 5-0 and 0-1 but also against Lebanon with two goalless draws 0-0. Fortunately, this selection was able to do the job against Bangladesh twice, 0-1 and 5-0. 

The two stars of this selection are of course Kang-In Lee (PSG) and Son (Tottenham, 48 goals in selection). They will be accompanied by the interesting Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton, 14 goals in 66 caps), or by Lee Jae-sung (Mainz, 11 goals in 88 caps), In-Beom (Feyenoord), without forgetting to mention the central defender of Bayern Munich, Kim Min-jae (63 caps). On the other hand, injured, the goalkeeper with 81 selections, Seung-gyu will be missing as will the defenders Kyung-won (32 sels) and Moon-hwan (27 sels) both on the flank as well. Present in June, the three midfielders Hyun-seok (Mainz, 12 caps), Won-sang (8 sel) and Jun-ho (Stoke City, 2 sel) were not called up.  It is obvious that football consumers do not know any players on the visiting team's roster. And yet, if there is one name to stand out from the crowd, it is Dabbagh, resident of Charleroi, author of 16 goals in 39 caps.

Boys like Cantillana (10 goals in selection) and Seyam (13 goals in 65 caps) are also elements to watch for the South Koreans. Present in June, defender Mohammed Saleh (34 appearances for the selection) was not called up. Ditto for midfielder Sawafta (5 caps) or the attackers Batran (6 goals in 33 caps), Eid (25 caps), Qunbar (2 goals in 8 caps) or even Hassan (7 caps) all present in June or at least in March 2024. Note the absence of Hussein due to injury.
