Although results have picked up a bit recently, the fact that Lithuania have recorded just two victories in their previous 11 top-flight home fixtures, losing on five occasions, goes a long way towards explaining why they find themselves locked in a difficult battle. As for title-chasing Romania, they have triumphed four times in five trips at this level of late.

As for Lithuania, 14 of their previous 19 home games at this level have also produced two goals or fewer, including a win and a draw against these opponents.

At least one of the two goalkeepers has emerged with a clean sheet from each of the previous five Lithuania matches in the UEFA Nations League, so there is no reason to see this pattern changing against Romania. One reason for this is that it has also been the case in each of the Toffees’ last three away games at this level, so both teams are on the same page.
