Ajax vs Sittard Prediction & Betting Tips (18 September)

Ajax Amsterdam disappointed last year in the league, finishing only 5th with almost 40 points behind champion PSV. There was still an improvement in the 2nd part of the season, which allowed the Dutch to reach the 1/8 finals of the C4, knocked out by a formidable team, Aston Villa, and will this season be able to compete in the C3 after their crushing play-off victory against Poles Jagiellonia 7-1 on aggregate. After only two matches in the league, the Ajacides find themselves in the red zone but have 3 to 4 games less than their competitors, after a victory at the opening of the season against Heerenveen 1-0, and a worrying defeat against Breda before the truce 2-1.

 Opposite, Sittard finished his last season particularly badly, unlike his opponent of the day, with 8 matches without a victory including 4 defeats and therefore 4 draws, poor performances which deprived them of the European Cup despite their worn after a good start to exercise. This year too it's a good start with two successes during the first two days against Almere 3-0 and the GA Eagles 0-2, but the demons very quickly resurfaced against the modest teams of Nijmegen 0-3 and Breda 1- 0. 

Even after the departures of Mikautadze (13 million euros, Metz), Steven Bergwijn (Al-Ittihad, 22 million euros), and Francisco Conceiçao (FC Porto, 10 million euros), there are lots of people in attack with the arrivals of Bertrand Traoré and Wout Weghorst, but also the two home scorers Akpom (11 goals last year) and Brobbey (18 goals). Note the presence of Henderson (ex-Liverpool) in the middle and now captain, who brings experience to all the youth of the center who are in the spotlight. Centrals Kaplan and Avila, midfielders Mannsverk and Taylor, as well as offensive players Godts, Van Axel-Dongen and Berghuis are not sure they will be able to play this match. Two significant absences are to be deplored from Sittard, notably last season's top scorer Sierhuis (ex-Reims, 12 goals), and midfielder Da Cruz.

Otherwise, on the offensive level we will find the Croatian Halilovic (2 goals already this season), the playmaker on loan from Feyenoord, Bullaude, or the experienced recruit from Croatia, Erceg, who has not yet opened his counter. Captain Branderhorst will be there in his cages, behind the complicit central defense Adewoye-Guth.
